A cabinet-maker and inlay artist trained at the École Boulle and a designer with a degree fromEnsci Paris, Jean Baptiste Sibertin-Blanc sees the world through the twin lenses of art and of design. He began his career designing furniture for the Taller de Arquitectura Ricardo Bofill for four years. Then he led teaching workshops to revive craftsmanship in the Indian Ocean in a five-year program of the European Development Fund. Between 1999 and 2011 Jean-Baptiste became Creative Director at Cristallerie Daum, where he involved creators from all over the world in the production of limited editions. Jean Baptiste Sibertin-Blanc has participated in many group shows. In 2010, as Artistic Director of the “Visions of Obsidian” exhibit, he brought together twelve artists to produce some extraordinary pieces.
Jean Baptiste Sibertin-Blanc has run studio JBSB for several years now and collaborated with numerous brands, including Assa Abloy, Christofle, Cristal Saint Louis, Hermès, Ligne Roset, LVMH and others. Jean Baptiste designed the Bamboo collection for cub-ar. |
